Farmington Babe Ruth Baseball will kick off the Fall season on Saturday, August 28 with practices for both Transitional and Junior divisions.
The two Transitional teams will again participate in the D5 Fall Ball league and will emphasize skills necessary to move from Little League to the big diamond, such as leading and stealing, pitching from the stretch and pickoffs, balks, and hit and run plays. Mike Gulino and Mike DeRoy will manage the Transitional teams. Games will begin in early September and run through the end of October.
Farmington places 4 Junior teams in the regional Babe Ruth Fall program this year. The teams will be managed by Jay Sicklick, Dave Paul, Mark Turner, and Paul Nanos. We expect to start play with a single game on Labor Day weekend, then play two games each weekend until late October. A single elimination tournament will follow, ending in late October or early November.
Team selections will take place the weekend of August 21. Managers will contact their players shortly thereafter.
Schedules will be posted on www.fybl.org as soon as they are available.
